Ciletuh Geopark
Ciletuh area is in Tamanjaya, Ciemas, Sukabumi district. It is considered as one of the places in Java that has the oldest rocks, so this area becomes very rare geologically. The rocks that are found around this region show a very exotic scenery to be unique, both in terms of the composition of the rock and in terms of nature.
The Waterfall that has a height of about 20 meters in the area of Ciletuh Geopark is Curug Sodong. The uniqueness of this waterfall it has two adjacent waterfalls, then on the bottom surface of the waterfall there is a cavity basin like a cave. Beautiful natural scenery around this waterfall is a lot of grows green and shady trees.
This waterfall has 2 other names, such as Curug Kembar and Curug Pengantin. Both names are given because the waterfall has a flow of water that falls from the top with the same shape and is also considered like a groom and a bride who paired and facing each other. Above Curug Sodong there is another waterfall called Curug Cikanteh.
Palangpang Beach is the estuary of Cimarinjung Curug water flow that flows to this beach. The shape of this beach is like a horseshoe when viewed from a distant height, sea gradations are light blue and dark blue from the beach is very beautiful if tourist look it from a distance. Sand on the beach is white brown, around the beach there are rice fields that decorate the beauty of this beach.
The Uniqueness of Curug Cimarinjung is located in the middle of the slope and surrounded by cliffs and green trees. Waterfall hills layer with rock cliffs, large rocks scattered around the surface flow of waterfalls and the expanse of plants that complement this waterfall to be fresh. The height of this waterfall is about 70 meters.
Darma Peak is one part of Ciletuh Geopark tourism places that has an amazing scenery. From the top of this hilltop we can see the beauty of Ciletuh bay which is shaped like a horseshoe and beautiful blue sea with green decorated from the surrounding settlement. Darma Peak is one of the highest peaks that exist in the area of Ciletuh Geopark, it has an altitude about 230 meters from sea level. Getting here requires a great struggle and determination to enjoy its beauty, because the access roads are mostly still steep and rocky, narrow and not possible to reach by car that if it is not made for offroad.
The water source in this waterfall is not from mountain springs. Waterfall in the area Ciletuh Geopark which is at the top of the waterfall in the flow of the river Ciletuh is Curug Awang. This waterfall is located in the village of Taman Jaya Ciemas district Sukabumi regency of West Java and it has a height of about 40 meters with a width of about 60 meters. The uniqueness of this waterfall is the beauty of natural stone walls with reddish brown color and also as a characteristic of this place.
Panenjoan Hill is a place to see the landscape with a vast expanse of rice fields surrounded by forest trees, hills, settlements and views of the sea from a distance. The word "Panenjoan" comes from Sundanese, which means "a place to see." This place is perfect for enjoying the natural landscape of Ciletuh Geopark.
Panenjoan hill is a favorite spot in Ciletuh Geopark because of its easy access and complete supporting facilities such as cafe, mosque and parking lot. The location near the office of PAPSI (Paguyuban Alam Pakidulan Sukabumi) as the management of this area and can find information about Ciletuh Geopark.
Geological rocks in this place are very unique because it resembles batik also it is still in the area Ciletuh Geopark. This rock is the oldest rock in the world that was about 6 million years ago according to the researchers. Access to Batu Batik must use fishing boats from the Palangpang Pier, because access via land routes is not yet available.
In Ciwaru village there is an island called Kunti Island. The island has white sand, clear sea water and some unique rocks. According to geologists, rocks around the island are also the oldest rocks in the world. Around Kunti Island there are coral reefs, we can play water also snorkeling in this area.
